December 11, 2008 - A holiday event this week at Rick’s Tavern is hoping its “spectacular” entertainment will help local children have a merry Christmas with gifts under the tree. The second annual “Christmas Spectacular” buffet and entertainment fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, features Fairfield Idol winners, Fairfield Rhythm Express show choir, the Fairfield High School Jazz Ensemble and local musician Kevin Clark.

Rick’s Tavern hosts a fundraising dinner for Samantha Morris. She is a senior at FHS who needs a double lung transplant. Sami has cystic fibrosis and is currently No. 1 on the transplant list at Children’s Hospital in Columbus. The dinner is Monday, June 8 at Rick’s Tavern from 6 to 8 p.m.

Cost is $15 for all-you-can-east spaghetti, garlic bread, macaroni and cheese, dessert and a drink. Split the pot will be available. A silent auction will be held with numerous baskets available for bid.

Donate what you can! A donation of $2 gets you a 3-D rose sucker.The rose is the symbol of cystic fibrosis many young children who have the disease have trouble pronouncing it and call it “65 Roses.”
